Second Wave of Kinect Titles Announced

by Kyle Sondergaard

After a long absence of new software for Kinect,  Microsoft’s E3 conference gave us a whole list of new games with support for the peripheral. As expected, there were many titles geared toward a more casual audience, but this year, Microsoft is putting more effort into making Kinect appeal to the hardcore crowd who have had their reservations about the device thus far.

Among the more casual-oriented announcements were Dance Central 2, Kinect Sports Season 2, Kinect Fun Labs, and Kinect Disneyland Adventures. If you’re looking for the titles designed to appeal to the hardcore audience, check out the trailers below for Kinect Star Wars, Ryse, and Fable: The Journey.

Among others, Mass Effect 3 and Ghost Recon: Future Soldier were revealed to make use of Kinect for certain features in the game, but will still utilize the standard controller. It was also announced that Minecraft is coming to Xbox 360 with Kinect, but there is no word on whether it is exclusively a Kinect title or if it will still be playable with a standard controller.

So  what do you think? Do you already own a Kinect? If not, have any of these announcements made you think about purchasing one?
